PRATAC has been instrumental in influencing Council actions regarding Don Maynard Park, the Community Official Plan”, lowering the flag policy, the recreational trail, the seventh line bridge and three very successful “Meet the Candidates Nights” to mention a few. During this service to citizens, PRATAC received severe criticism from some circles. Harsh words were said and many individuals felt uncomfortable in the community. We had a divided community prior to the election. PRATAC did NOT run candidates for election, but suggested to voters that they support candidates who shared their personal hopes and expectations for the future. PRATAC believes that the electorate has elected intelligent people who will listen to the public, will display transparency and will work in the interest of all ratepayers. We believe that Council was elected to represent the people and to operate the Corporation in the best interests of the Corporation both morally and financially.
We need your input regarding the future of PRATAC. Should PRATAC continue or is it time to celebrate our success and move on?
We are going to use the number of membership renewals and attendance at our Annual General Meeting, scheduled for
Wednesday, March 27th @ 7pm at the Civitan Hall 500 Almonte St.
as an indication of continued support for PRATAC.
The guest speaker at the AGM will Aaron Wudrick of the Canadian Taxpayers Association.
You will be able to renew your memberships ($10) at the General Meeting. Brian is stepping away from the President’s position as he has been President since the inception of PRATAC. We need people to sit on the Executive. If we do not have an Executive, we will not have PRATAC.
Brian will also take this opportunity to talk about issues that have faced the new Council and some important decisions that Council has made.
We look forward to see you at this meeting. We need your input as to the future of PRATAC.
